The Staff of Homecoming Project, Inc.

Robin Keener, Executive Director

  • Supervises all staff, including the interviewing, hiring and training of employees and performance evaluations.
  • Develops and implements short and long range plans and policies.
  • Directs the financial management of Homecoming Project, Inc., including development and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Facilitates partnerships and collaboration with other organizations in the homeless and addiction recovery community in Harford County.
  • Administers the operation of the corporation, including: evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that contractual obligations are fulfilled, allocating resources for program effectiveness and efficiency.

Education

Ms. Keener has completed extensive coursework in business administration, drug and alcohol addiction. She also attends continuing education classes on medical and therapeutic treatment within the recovery community.

Previous Employment Experience

Ms. Keener has a previous ten-year management career at two of the Baltimore Metro area's top sporting goods retailers. Additionally, she has fourteen years of experience as manager of the Bel Air location for retailer Things Remembered, receiving the company's Top Manager Award 5 times between 1994 and 2003. Ms. Keener received more than 75 awards for exceptional performance in the business management field.

Certified by the State of Maryland to manage Homecoming Project, Inc. as a Level III.1 - Clinically managed Low-Intensity Residential Service
Certified in CPR by the American Red Cross
Swimming Pool Operator's license

Micki Thomas, Clinical Director

Micki Thomas is certified through the State of Maryland as an Addictions Counselor and by the CENAPS Corporation as a Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist. She has been affiliated with Father Martin's Ashley, a treatment center for chemical dependency and alcoholism located in Havre de Grace, Maryland since 1983. Now retired from Ashley, Micki devotes her time to working with the residents of Homecoming.

Micki has an extensive background in education and treatment of the addicted person, and helped to develop and implement the relapse prevention program at Ashley. She has also developed an educational program for young children whose parent(s) are alcoholic or chemically dependent. Micki has facilitated many workshops and training events for the recovering community, professionals in the field of addiction, and the alumni of Ashley.

Mary Insley, Program Manager

  • Provides daily case management services to clients and works closely with the counselor to ensure the clients’ progress in their individual treatment plan by providing weekly shift reports and case notes concerning the residents; Responsible for all initial screening and interviewing of potential clients and informing referral sources of bed availabilities; Processes all intakes and discharges; Acts as first point of contact for resident concerns and any program issues
  • Introduces new programs to Homecoming Project to enhance the resident’s lifestyles such as, yoga, acupuncture, and horseback riding; Provides a weekly education session by soliciting outside presenters such as Senators, Judges, Doctors, Lawyers and local community leaders
  • Performs administrative duties that include, but are not limited to, ensuring that the program is organized and running in accordance with COMAR regulations; Provides clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director
  • Represents Homecoming at any outside affairs, such as workshops, conferences, symposiums, seminars, etc. Education

Mary is a 2005 graduate of University of Maryland, College Park. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice & History. Mary is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
